PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. — ECRI Institute announces a collaboration with the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals designed to facilitate the work of hospital value analysis teams.

Value analysis is a systematic process to review clinical products, equipment and technologies to evaluate their clinical efficacy, safety and impact on organizational resources.

ECRI Institute will provide AHVAP with customized programs related to evidence-based analysis of healthcare technologies, capital and supply procurement, and medical device safety and management. Through the collaboration, ECRI Institute and AHVAP will offer co-sponsored educational events, quarterly newsletters and white papers that will support AHVAP members in applying evidence-based decision making and clinical and quality indicators in their healthcare technology selection processes.

“We’re pleased that ECRI Institute will not only be able to bring us educational and technical expertise, but also new customized programs and publications highlighting the profession of value analysis,” states AHVAP President Barbara Strain. “AHVAP envisions the role of the value analysis professional will be crucial to the viability of healthcare in the coming decade. To prepare our members, AHVAP is seeking collaborations with others in the industry that have similar goals and complementary skill sets to help AHVAP achieve its mission,” adds Strain.
