The AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, or AAH, recently announced an opening for a volunteer webinar leader and a call for Academy Journal papers.
The AAH mission is to improve both the quality of healthcare design and the design of healthy communities by developing, documenting and disseminating knowledge. For more information, visit the AAH web page. Recent announcements include:
- Volunteer position open: AAH seeks submissions for a volunteer to act as Webinar Leader. The Academy hosts monthly webinars presented by architects and design professionals tailored to healthcare design professionals. The volunteer leader is responsible for identifying and recruiting presenters to speak to a webinar audience of clients, consultants or colleagues on topics directly related to the healthcare profession at large. This includes, but is not limited to design, policy, local and global communities, and the remunerative “value impact” that healthcare architects can impart above and beyond “just drawing buildings.” The deadline to apply is Friday, March 2.
- AIA AAH Academy Journal call for papers: The Academy is accepting submissions for the 2012 Academy Journal. As the official publication of the Academy, the Journal electronically publishes articles of particular interest to AIA members and those involved in the fields of healthcare architecture, planning, design, research and construction. Since 2005, AAH has also published a hard copy version of the Journal that has expanded distribution worldwide. The submission due date is Thursday, May 31.
