HKS Acquires Maregatti Interiors to form HKS Maregatti Interiors

DALLAS, Texas — HKS has acquired Maregatti Interiors LLC, a nationally prominent interior design firm, to form HKS Maregatti Interiors. Maregatti Interiors specializes in interior design for healthcare as well as educational and commercial clients. The firm, founded in 2001, currently operates from offices in Chicago, Ill. and Indianapolis, Ind.

In 2002, Maregatti and HKS staff teamed to complete their first project, working with Indiana University on IU Health West Hospital. The two firms also completed IU Health North Hospital. Today, both firms are completing design and interior architecture services for IU Health Saxony Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children Simon Family Tower at IU Health.

“Our purpose, values and business model are similar – including our responsive service ethic,” said Craig Beale, FAIA, FACHA, FACHE, FAAHC, director of HKS’s healthcare group.  “We began working together 10 years ago in Indianapolis. Our staffs specialize in the design of inpatient and outpatient healing environments, crossing a wide spectrum of project type, size and complexity. Merging the two firms will only strengthen our ability to provide best-practice architectural and interior design.”

Maregatti’s distinct national portfolio includes work with IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, Ind.; Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center in Lavonia, Ga.; The Mount Sinai Medical Center in Chicago, Ill.; Lakeland Healthcare in St. Joseph, Mich.; St. Mary’s Good Samaritan in Mount Vernon, Ill.; Saint James Olympia Field in Chicago, Ill.; Indiana University School of Medicine Walther Hall in Indianapolis, Ind.; Swedish Covenant in Chicago, Ill.; and Geneva General Hospital in no deposit casino Geneva, N.Y.

Ana Pinto-Alexander serves as the principal and director of HKS Maregatti Interiors. She has 25 years of experience designing interiors for the country’s most progressive healthcare facilities. She has spoken internationally on the importance of the built environment in the healing process.

“We are honored to become part of the HKS family,” said Pinto-Alexander. “Our combined staff will offer world-class services, allowing our clients to expand in the local and global economy.”

HKS, Inc. is a leading architectural design firm ranked among the top five architectural engineering firms. Since its founding in 1939, HKS has completed construction projects totaling more than $69 billion in more than 1,069 cities located in 46 states, the District of Columbia and 65 foreign countries.
