MikeWoodDENVER, CO — Heery International has named Michael Wood its west region director of healthcare project management. Wood, who will be based in the firm’s Denver office, has more than 30 years of experience managing the design and construction of over $5 billion in hospital projects.

Prior to joining Heery, he was the senior director of healthcare for Project One, where he served as the owner’s representative for a $393-million university teaching and research hospital expansion in Aurora, Colo. and a medical center renovation/expansion project for Exempla Healthcare in Wheat Ridge, Colo. that included moving more than 1,500 people and 30 functional departments in 215 moves over 3 1/2 half years.

Wood earned a B.A. in business administration from Evergreen State College and an M.A. in management from Regis University.  A graduate of the Colorado Real Estate Institute, he played a key role in establishing a chapter of the International Facility Managers Association on the west coast.  He has previously served as president of IFMA’s Denver Chapter and as the organization’s regional vice president.

“Michael has a tremendous reputation for helping clients achieve better than expected results,” says Heery Vice President and West Region Manager Jim Isaf.  “His knowledge of healthcare and regulatory issues, experience in sustainable design, implementation of continuous value analysis processes, and ability to inspire innovation and orchestrate a cohesive team effort will enable us to better serve our healthcare clients.”

Heery International is an 800-person architecture, interior design, engineering, program management and construction management firm with offices nationwide. As an affiliated company of Parsons Brinckerhoff, one of the world’s leading professional services companies, Heery now operates as that firm’s U.S. buildings operating company.
