Whitworth_StevePHOENIX — Steve Whitworth, who joined Kitchell in 2006, was recently promoted to Healthcare Division Manager. Steve will oversee project directors on all Kitchell healthcare projects.

“There are so many reasons why Steve’s promotion to healthcare division manager is a great thing for our company. He demonstrates unwavering leadership in all situations – earning the respect and trust of not only his clients but also his coworkers,” says Kitchell Senior Vice President Dan Pierce. “With the increasing opportunities in healthcare construction throughout the country, it is terrific to have someone with Steve’s experience and drive to help manage this division, which comprises a significant percentage of our business.”

Pierce cites Whitworth’s extensive and up-to-date knowledge of all facets of the highly complex arena of healthcare construction.

Since joining Kitchell, Whitworth has worked on several facilities including Kindred Healthcare in Sacramento, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, and facilities in and around the hospital property including Ryan House and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center. Prior to his career at Kitchell, Whitworth worked on dozens of hospitals, imaging centers, radiopharmacies and related facilities (such as nursing homes and medical office buildings) throughout the country.

ASHE-certified in healthcare construction, Whitworth is Education Chair and board member for the Central Arizona Society for Healthcare Engineering (CASHE). He is also a member of the A merican Society for Healthcare Engineering and Design-Build Institute of America. He has a B.S. in Construction Technology from Indiana State University.

Kitchell applies innovative approaches to quality assurance, safety, value engineering and environmental protection – among other industry-leading practices – to a wide range of construction and program management projects in the hospitality, healthcare, corrections, utility, alternative energy, retail, performing arts and academic communities. Its specialized divisions and subsidiaries include Commercial, Healthcare, Native American, Custom Homes, Facilities Development Inc., Environmental Services and American Refrigeration Supplies.
