Extensive specialized experience drawn upon for various medical projects
BOSTON, Mass. — Payette, a leading architectural design firm specializing in complex buildings for academic teaching, medical and scientific research, and healthcare, announced recently that it has been selected to design improvements for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hallmark Health, and Temple University.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Advanced Surgery Center and Clinical MRI Addition
Payette has been asked to design a two-story addition, including a partial lower level, to house an inter-operative suite with a state-of-the-art overhead MRI and CT imaging system. The suite will be used for clinical cases that have some research component, with research collaborations primarily between Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Dartmouth Medical School, and Thayer School of Engineering. A third-floor will be expanded and renovated to include two additional MRI areas, and an adjacent imaging suite. The 30,150 SF, $12m construction project is expected to be completed in 2013.
Hallmark Health Breast Cancer Center and Cosmetic Laser Center
Payette has been selected by Hallmark Health for two projects within the system. The Breast Cancer Center is a 4200 SF renovation and is located in Stoneham, Massachusetts. The Cosmetic Laser Center, currently under construction, is a 1200 SF tenant fit-out located in Reading, Massachusetts.
Temple University Health Sciences Campus Framework Plan
Payette will develop a long-range, flexible framework plan to guide future development of Temple University’s Health Sciences Campus in North Philadelphia, which includes 3.9 million SF and 3,300 parking spaces. The Health Sciences Campus encompasses Temple’s School of Medicine, Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, College of Health Professions and Social Work, School of Pharmacy, and School of Podiatric Medicine, as well as Temple University Hospital and other elements of the Temple University Health System. The study will also address the School of Podiatric Medicine’s downtown Philadelphia campus, which includes teaching, research, residential, and clinical facilities. The framework plan will utilize a multi-faceted approach to develop a campus framework plan that reflects Temple’s academic strategic plan; promotes student life and the interconnections among the Health Science Schools and colleges; enhances campus safety and promotes a vibrant campus life; respects and engages the surrounding community; and demonstrates a commitment to sustainability. Andropogon Associates, a Philadelphia landscape architecture firm, and U3 Ventures, a Philadelphia firm specializing in real estate analysis and development, are collaborating with Payette on the project.
