ATLANTA, Ga. — Carlos E. Melendez has been named a vice president at Heery International. In his new position, he will serve as a project director, playing a leadership role in the firm’s Atlanta healthcare practice and working to expand Heery’s pursuit of healthcare projects.
An architect with over 25 years of experience, Melendez has led high-profile projects and master plans for leading healthcare institutions throughout North America, Asia and the Middle East.
His body of work includes some of the most recognized names in healthcare, including the recently completed $350-million Brigham & Women’s Shapiro Cardiovascular Center in Boston; the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire; the Tata Medical Campus in Kolkata, India and the Boston Children’s Hospital South Building.
Melendez has led design and planning efforts for more than 6 million square feet of healthcare projects with a combined construction value of more than $3 billion. He is a registered architect, a member of the AIA, a LEED accredited professional and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
