Rick Drake, AIA Joins Perkins Eastman as Principal

NEW YORK — The Executive Committee of top international design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman recently announced that F. Bradford (Rick) Drake AIA has joined the firm as a Principal. Based in the firm’s Oakland, CA office, Drake joins Managing Principal Leslie Moldow and Principal Dan Akol to continue Perkins Eastman’s growth on the West Coast, while contributing to the firm’s growing international practices in healthcare, science, and education. He will also focus his efforts on Washington, DC pursuing work within the federal government.

Drake joins Perkins Eastman from Stantec where he most recently served as a Vice President and the practice leader for architecture in the Western US. He has extensive hospital and university design experience, and brings an international perspective to best practice discussions. He has extensive involvement with large and complex design/build projects in Europe and Canada. Drake’s work comprises major clients including NIH, the VA, Emory, the University of Oxford and the University of California Davis, among others.

Drake holds a BA from Tulane University, a BArch Cum Laude from Syracuse, as well as an MBA from Syracuse.  He has also done postgraduate work at Harvard University in laboratory design. He is a member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Society of College & University Planners (SCUP), and American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE). Rick’s work has been recognized with numerous design awards and publication in national design magazines.
