INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Clarian Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip M. Dulberger, M.D., as chief executive officer and chief medical officer for Clarian Saxony Medical Center.

Dr. Dulberger, a board-certified anesthesiologist, was hired by Clarian Health in 2006 to lead the development of a hospital centered on the concepts of healing and wellness, later named Clarian Saxony Medical Center. Dr. Dulberger was also instrumental in the formation of Clarian Quality Partners (CQP) to which he was appointed CEO in 2008. Under his leadership, CQP – an organization dedicated to developing a clinically-integrated statewide physician network focused on improving evidence-based quality, value, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health care delivery – has grown to include nearly 3,000 physicians across Indiana.

As CEO and CMO for Clarian Saxony Medical Center, Dr. Dulberger will continue to provide leadership to CQP, as well as begin identifying and selecting his management team for the new hospital targeted for completion in winter 2011.

Clarian Saxony Medical Center, the first and only hospital in the town of Fishers, is being built in phases and will initially offer primary care, a medical-office building, ambulatory surgery center and inpatient surgery services consisting of orthopedic joint and sports medicine, and neurosurgical spine and cardiovascular procedures, including open heart surgery. Additionally, the hospital will feature gardens and walking and jogging trails that will be open to the public.

Dr. Dulberger graduated from Wabash College and Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his internship year at Clarian’s Methodist Hospital and completed his anesthesia residency at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to joining Clarian Health, he worked in the Community Health Network.
