CHICAGO – HOK’s Chicago office is pleased to announce the addition of Mark Banholzer and Patricia Canedo, both AIA and LEED® AP, to the firm’s Healthcare Practice at the senior level. Banholzer has returned to HOK as Vice President and Interior Design Principal. Canedo has been named Associate and Medical Planner.
With more than 25 years of design experience, Banholzer returns to HOK after a year at RTKL. His new role as Interior Design Principal will involve overseeing interiors projects for the firm’s regional Healthcare Practice. His portfolio includes recent projects for the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Ind., Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., and the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Banholzer received his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at Kansas State University.
Canedo joins HOK from Perkins+Will, where she served as Architect and Medical Planner for three years. In her new role as Medical Planner, she will work with members of HOK’s Healthcare Practice and hospital facilities’ executives to translate client business objectives into long-term strategies for building and campus development. Her recent work includes projects for Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, the Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago, and the Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. Canedo received her Master’s Degree in Architecture from FAUM University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
