CHARLOTTE, N.C., — Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN(SM) announced on March 24 that Medical Center Physicians Tower is complete and hosted its ribbon-cutting yesterday in Jackson, Tennessee.

The Medical Center Physicians Tower, a 106,772 square foot medical office building (MOB) and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in Jackson, Tennessee marks the first project with West Tennessee Healthcare, Inc. and is located on the campus of Jackson Madison County General Hospital. The five-story facility features an attached eight level parking deck. Both the MOB and parking deck are connected to a pedestrian walkway that ties directly to the hospital.

West Tennessee Healthcare, Inc. will lease approximately 67,000 square feet for its ambulatory surgery center, neurosciences group and pharmacy. The project is currently 75 percent leased and the remaining space is being marketed to local area physician groups.

Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN was the developer on the project, Robins & Morton of Birmingham, Alabama was the general contractor on the project while RPA Design, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, were the architects.  Cogdell Spencer Inc. owns 50 percent of the project, with West Tennessee Healthcare, Inc. and local physicians owning the remaining percentage.

“The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive,” stated Bobby Arnold, President and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare.  “This new facility was designed with our patients’ needs in mind, offering the latest in technology, patient comfort and efficient patient flow.”

“Medical Center Physicians Tower has been very well received,” noted Susan Dorr, President of Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN’s Southeast Region, who attended yesterday’s ribbon-cutting event. “We are proud to have been a part of the team to bring this innovative facility to Jackson and the surrounding community.”
