The SmithGroup and Clark Nexsen were recently awarded a contract to design and engineer Camp Lejeune’s new Outpatient Clinic, perform renovations and complete an MRI facility addition.
The 93,000-square-foot Outpatient Clinic will include audiology, mental health, ophthalmology, optometry, orthopedics, podiatry, chiropractic, sports medicine, physical therapy, primary care and family practice space. The renovation will cover approximately 169,000 square feet of space.
The projects total $122.2 million and are being funded by the Military Construction Program, which Congress approves each year.
The new construction will come in two phases: The first piece is the addition piece which is expected to break ground in September 2010 and be complete by January 2013. The renovation is expected to start in January 2013 and be complete in January 2015.
