Margulies Perruzzi Architects Selected for Design of Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program

BOSTON, Mass.-- Margulies Perruzzi Architects, one of Boston’s most innovative architectural and interior design firms,  recently announced that it has been selected to provide design services for the new Home Base Program, a multifaceted initiative at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) aimed at helping veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq who are affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). The Home Base Program is a partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital, in cooperation with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Margulies Perruzzi Architects is designing 4,000 square feet of space at 101 Merrimac Street in Boston for the new program and related departments.

IEI General Contractors Receives AGC of WI BUILD Award for Bellin Cancer Hospital Construction

IEI General Contractors received a BUILD Award for New Construction from the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin for its work on the Bellin Health Systems Team Cancer facility in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

IEI General Contractors has received the 2009 BUILD Award for New Construction for its work on the Bellin Health Systems Team Cancer facility in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Presented by the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin, the AGC BUILD Award highlights the quality work performed by IEI General Contractors on this important healthcare building.

The NoliWhite Group Launches PI2 Initiative at Pilot Site in Thomasville, GA

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The NoliWhite Group, Brentwood-based healthcare facility developers, launched an innovative process that will incorporate the use of Apple’s iPad on hospital and other healthcare-related construction sites, officials announced today. The initiative, Project Information Integration, or PI2, is being piloted on the construction of John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital’s new North Tower in Thomasville, GA.

HealthSouth Announces Plans to Build New Hospital in Texas

State-of-the-art hospital brings rehabilitation services to northwest Houston

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., -- HealthSouth Corporation recently announced plans to begin construction of a new 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the Cypress area of northwest Houston in the fourth quarter. In connection with such plans, HealthSouth has signed a contract to purchase a 6-acre tract of land from an affiliate of Caldwell Companies, based in Houston. The land is located on the northeast corner of Highway 290 and FM 1960 in Houston.

Multi-Million Dollar Expansion at Banner Good Samaritan in Downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX -- Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center is expanding its Surgical Services department. The $71 million project will result in 136,000 square feet of a renovated and expanded surgical department.

When completed in 2012, there will be 20 state-of-the-art operating rooms, 76 preoperative and postoperative bays, new waiting room with technology to keep families connected to their loved ones during the surgery process, conference rooms, education space, family consultation rooms, and new physician and staff lounges.

The Children’s Hospital Announces Expansion with New Patient Tower

East_Tower_renderingNew 10-story Tower Will Include Additional Patient Beds and Advanced Maternal Fetal Medicine Services

DENVER --The Children’s Hospital has begun the construction of a 10-story, 350,000-square-foot addition. The $230 million expansion of a new patient tower initially will have 124 beds, with two floors of shelled space for additional future beds, bringing the total number of patient beds at Children’s to around 500 upon full completion. The expansion also is expected to bring approximately 500 new jobs to the hospital's workforce. Children’s anticipates admitting patients in the LEED-certified tower beginning in late 2012.
