Alabama Firms Break Ground on New Replacement Hospital in Great Falls, Montana

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  — A groundbreaking ceremony on Aug. 13 marked the start of construction on the Great Falls Clinic Medical Center’s new replacement hospital in Great Falls, Montana. The project team includes several Alabama companies, including Capital Growth MedVest, project developer; Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. , project architect and Brasfield & Gorrie L.L.C., general contractor.

Local project team members include Dick Anderson Construction and L’Heureux Page Werner.

In April, the Great Falls Clinic announced plans to build the 60,000-square-foot facility near its main campus, adjacent to the existing Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center. The state-of-the-art medical building will include a 19-bed hospital, operating rooms, proce¬dure room and emergency room and will provide inpatient, surgical and emergency services. The new hospital, which will connect to the Specialty Center where many of the clinic’s providers practice, will help resolve some of the current building’s efficiency and space issues.

The facility will be owned equally by Great Falls Clinic, a multispecialty medical practice with primary, related secondary and urgent care service offerings, and Symbion, a company that partners with hospitals and health systems to develop and operate short-stay surgical facilities.

The team expects to complete construction of the facility by fall 2015.
